Originally by Johnnie Green. Edited by Peter Hageman, Bernard L. King and Martin Bennett.
A new edition of a classic with completely revised captions. Since it was first published in 1969, Bentley: Fifty Years of the Marque by Johnnie Green has been the foundation of any Bentley enthusiast's library. To meet demand, the book went through several re-printings. However, much further information has come to light about the featured cars. Dalton Watson commissioned three leading Bentley experts to completely rewrite the captions and substantially recompile the index. The same quality of picture reproduction, printing and binding that has become the hallmark of Dalton Watson have been retained.
Hundreds of alterations have been made since the last edition was printed!
The Editors: Peter Hageman was born in The Netherlands in 1951 but has spent most of his life in Seattle, Washington, USA. He inherited his love of vintage cars from his father, acquiring his first car, a 1930s Packard, when he was thirteen years old. Peter was the Bentley Driver's Club chairman for the North West USA region for ten years and has judged vintage Bentleys at both the US National Rolls-Royce Owner's Club meets and at the Pebble Beach Concours in California. He now serves on the Advisory Board of Pebble Beach and is also a consultant to Bentley Motors.
Bernard L. King, a native of Surrey, England, was involved in the travel and airline industries throughout his working life. Now retired, he has been able to indulge his passion tracking down and listing vintage aircraft and Bentley and Rolls-Royce motorcars. A historian rather than a technical expert, he has developed a huge database which has enabled him to self-publish many books, including the Complete Classics series of Rolls-Royce and Bentley books. He is the proud owner of a 1954 Bentley R-type Hooper "Empress".
