Mike Siegel is a filmmaker, film historian and the
director of more than a dozen documentaries on classic films and directors of
the 1960s and 1970s. He is best known for his work regarding American director
Sam Peckinpah including his acclaimed film Passion & Poetry – The
Ballad of Sam Peckinpah and the accompanying book Passion &
Poetry – Sam Peckinpah in Pictures. Over the years he has contributed to
countless books and magazines, including the American film magazine Cinema
Retro, and produced a number of special-edition DVDs. He started his
historical film collection at the age of ten and now owns one of the leading
archives in Germany. He resides near Stuttgart, Germany.
