In 1976, Hervé Chevalier purchased a
1957 Austin-Healey 100-Six (BN4), beginning a lifelong infatuation with
the marque. Over the course of two decades, he searched out and
collected photographs of the Healeys, Nash-Healeys and Austin-Healeys
that competed at Le Mans, primarily as a means to entertain friends
while on car outings. In 1998, Chevalier authored and published Les
Healeys au Le Mans: 1949 to 1970, documenting Warwick’s rich experience
at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
Highly regarded as one of the marque’s
most valuable resources, he has authored an additional eight books, each
covering a particular model or Les Healey en Competition. An inaugural
member and past president of the Le Club Healey France, Chevalier is
considered the marque’s leading resident authority in France and one of
its most active advocates. He resides in Marcoussis, France with his
wife Florence, both active participants in driving events and at shows
across the Continent.
