David Gaddis has had a lifelong interest in historic automobiles and racing. He has been published as a motorsports photographer and writer. In addition he has a graduate degree in Historic Preservation and has conducted hundreds of interviews of US veterans for the DoD Legacy program and been involved in research and documentation of historic landscapes and buildings for government contracts. His work in historic preservation and interest in automobiles and historic auto racing have merged in a timely way as significant automobiles are now part of the US National Historic Vehicle Register. He spoke on preservation issues involving vintage race cars at the first Historic Vehicle Association conference in 2016. Helping to record the history of the one of the greatest eras in US automobile racing though the interviews, research and writing of One Last Turn is a culmination of his interests and education.
